Cosmetology
Within the Cosmetology program of study, students are provided the opportunity to acquire basic fundamental skills in both theory and practical applications, with an emphasis on leadership and interpersonal skill development. The curriculum stresses safety, environmental issues, and protection of the public and designers as integrated with principles of hair, nail structure, and cosmetic procedures. Second and third year courses offer advanced knowledge and skills in hair design, nail artistry, and cosmetic applications. Laboratory facilities and experiences simulate those found in the cosmetology industry and duplicates all industry standards.

Upon completion and acquisition of 300 hours, students are eligible to take the Tennessee Board of Cosmetology Shampoo examination for a Tennessee Shampoo Technician License.
Upon completion and acquisition of 1500 hours, students will be eligible to take the Tennessee State Board of Cosmetology examination for the Tennessee Cosmetology License.

* Dual Enrollment Credit with Tennessee College of Applied Technology is offered in Cosmetology.

*Students can receive Career Readiness Certification and OSHA-10 Certification.

*Cosmetology students can participate in Job Shadowing, Service-Learning, and Work-Based Learning opportunities.
TCTC Cosmetology Program
The Trezevant CTC Cosmetology program not only provides students with an excellent curriculum in the field of cosmetology, but it also offers students various opportunities to serve the public through service-learning efforts that are unique to this program, such as creating wigs for the American Cancer Society’s wig closet, the Caregivers Refresh" program,partnering with "Operation Stand Down" and sponsoring their annual “Sweets for Survivors” Pamper Party for cancer patients and survivors. Trezevant CTC’s cosmetology students also support several other community-sponsored activities.
